A new mudroom, kitchen, powder room and more – oh my!
This Plymouth Meeting home’s first floor needed a serious rearrangement to create a modern, open concept first floor. JR Carpentry & Tile didn’t just focus on a complete remodel of four rooms – we also focused on creating multiple spaces that worked together.
The first room when you enter the home is the mudroom. As the entryway it serves two purposes: welcoming family and guests and also storage. We installed a dark wood storage unit with plenty of room for coats and shoes. The new flooring tile in earthy tones leads into the powder room.
With a neutral floor, the rest of the powder room held limitless possibilities. To create a natural color scheme we added new paint in a soft sage. A new mirror with a thick frame accents the vanity and sink.
From the powder room you can walk into the brand new kitchen. We installed new counter tops for for prep and seating. Above the counter is an accent tile backsplash. We also installed a new refrigerator surrounded by cabinets for storage. Pendant and recessed lighting illuminates the space. Light colored hardwood floors were laid down, leading into the living room.
The biggest transformation could easily be the living room. Two closets cut the room in half and held back the true potential. Removing the closets revealed an instant open concept layout. We updated the flooring to a light hardwood – previously it was two mismatched types of flooring. New paint and recessed lighting were final touches to this new family space.
