JR Carpentry & Tile was asked by a Philadelphia homeowner to design and build a deck to spruce up the sitting space in their backyard. However, the area was covered with a concrete slab, which stretched across the length of the house.
Instead of demolishing the concrete, we designed the deck to rest over it, using the pavement for support and to give the deck a bit of structure.
By avoiding an invasive demolition, the end cost of the project was kept to a minimum, while the end result maximized the available space and allowed for a beautiful new backyard sitting area.
