Remember that stunning custom front door we installed at a Havertown home recently?
We’re finished with the rest of the project and the end result is breathtaking!
The original façade of this Havertown house was beautiful. Unfortunately, it was blocked by an excess of unnecessary columns, which made it feel cold and unwelcoming.
After installing the front door (which was designed by our friends at John’s Custom Stairs), JR Carpentry & Tile got to work improving the rest of the façade.
We removed the existing round fluted columns, vinyl soffit, and exterior Sheetrock from under the roof overhang. All other wood trim was also removed.
The underside of this overhang was replaced with a vinyl bead board with vented strips. This allows for proper roof ventilation and will help maintain the life of the new roof. We also added new PVC trim boards, which will last much longer than the previous wooden trim and will never rot.
With the new trim in place, we set up a custom-made copper gutter and chain downspout, giving th center valley a focal point.
New Fypon headers were installed over the windows, and two brand new 6×6 pressure-treated lumber columns were erected on either side of the front door. The lumber was wrapped with Boral trim boards to give it an attractive, unique look.
The columns, along with the custom mahogany front door, transform the façade of this Havertown house into a welcoming entrance to a beautiful home.
