Everyone loves a good fixer-upper – but what happens when you purchase a flipped home and the contractors cut some corners?
A homeowner in Manayunk was excited to move into their newly renovated home. While they loved some of the updates done to the flipped house, many of the rooms looked far too boring for their unique taste, and several fixtures were too standard and bland.
They had already selected the materials, but needed an experienced, reputable, professional team to complete the work. We started with the shower, which had been outfitted with a bath fitter shower stall and very basic fixtures. Naturally, JR Carpentry & Tile was the first place they called, and we were more than happy to help!
We laid a gorgeous mosaic on the shower floor which was beautifully framed by the new subway tile on the walls. The shelves were removed and replaced with a more modern-looking set. Brand new fixtures completed look of the shower.
Next, we moved on to the rest of the bathroom. We poured self-leveling concrete to straighten the sloping floor out, then laid new tile. Once the tile was set, we finished installed a new furniture-style vanity, as well as a comfort height elongated toiled and modern bathroom door.
The laundry room also received brand new tile flooring, as did the entryway to the house. Each room was prepped with self-leveling concrete to correct the sloping floors.
Finally, we moved on to the kitchen. The new appliances and modern cabinets looked out of place next to the plain purple paint on the kitchen walls. We installed 2×6 white Carrara marble tile for the kitchen backsplash, which instantly transformed the look of the kitchen into a chic space to prepare delicious meals.
Now that the home is outfitted with gorgeous new tile and fixtures, the homeowners can paint each room and finally complete their house’s transformation into the home they’ve always wanted. We were honored to be a part of the process!
